MBBS In Nepal For Indian Students

All medical colleges in Nepal approved by the MCI have while back also fulfilled the recent NMC guidelines laid down on November 18, 2021, for accepting degrees for the National Exit Test (NEXT) in India. You can view the list of these colleges below and their carry-over status.

Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Nepal

  • The candidate should have passed 10+2 with Science as a subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) with 50% aggregate or secured the percentage equivalent to or above
  • Age should be at least 17 years from the last date of applying to apply for the MBBS or BDS course.

MBBS Admission Timelines in Nepal

Application form for admission into Medical colleges in Nepal is available in September / October and can be collected from the Nepal Embassy in India.

Documents Required for Nepal MBBS Admission

  • Recent passport-size photo
  • Passport or Aadhaar Card (same as given in the MEC application)
  • NEET Admit Card 2024
  • MECEE Admit Card, MECBL Registration Confirmation, and MEC Score Card
  • NEET Score Card (if applying for direct admission based on NEET score).
  • The 10th 12th Mark sheet is attested by a notary, lawyer, or authorized signatory, such as the principal.
  • Character certificate, plus a transfer certificate
  • Class 12 Migration Certificate
  • Application Fee charge of INR 5000/- payable to Medical Education Commission, Nepal.
  • Submission of a duly filled application form attached along with the documents

Cost of MBBS in Nepal

It’s worth noting that most hostels provide a range of room categories, including AC (air-conditioned) and non-AC, shared and independent options, allowing students to choose based on their preferences and budget.

Indian Food in Nepal's Medical Colleges

In Nepal, every medical college provides a mess facility for their students. Given that approximately one-third of the student population in these medical colleges is Indian, Indian cuisine is typically offered in the mess. The cost of food in the mess usually varies, ranging from 5,000 to 6,000 INR per month. This arrangement helps cater to the dietary preferences and tastes of the diverse student body, including Indian students studying in Nepal.
